fifth assignment

The project of my book can be looked at in two ways. My book is a christian fiction type book. The author takes real life situations and puts it into a different scenery and time. In the book, many of the characters pray about their situations to God in hopes of answered prayers. I feel the author could be saying , because of the way the story is ending, that God answers prayers, but doesn't always act at the moment that you would like. Many characters feel like he has abondoned them throughout the story but God always puts one and two together.

Another way the book can be looked at is a political statement. This books main conflict is war vs. love. Two people from different backgrounds have fallen for one another but can't be with eachother without being forced into something that is unwanted or without being mocked. The way the sory is folding seems to show that there are ways around war with everyone ending up to be happy. As the world sees it today one person always ends up not winning. This problem i think is shown many times throughout the story. So for now i'm torn between these two projects but i'm positive that the conflict is mainly is political and emotional. (war vs. love)

Fourth assignment

The book i am reading has three very clear elements that help the stories plot. This book is based around conflict. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, boy and girl are from different family ties. This creates extreme conflict, especially when love and emotions are thrown in. Not just emotions and love for each other but also for families and clans. Conflict is the name of the game in this book.
I have also found that metaphores are used alot in this book to give you a clearer picture and understanding of the emotions taking place. The author uses words like thickheaded, or phrases such as " she withdrew her touch as if she was touching something hot," to give you an idea of the emotions that the characters are having at the moment.
Symbols are also very common in this book. The title, Circle of Honor, alone is a symbol for each situation. Gwenyth and adam are put into situations that make them have to choose the most respectful yet most honorable decisions to their families as well as their self.
I have not found the project yet.

third assignment

I recently found that my book is very much similiar to a Romeo and Juliet type book. Not all parts are similiar but most fall in the category. Gwenyth and Adam are from two different sides of a long time war of independence. Both have showed feelings for each other. The only problem standing in the way our the bonds they have with their clans. So far both have also felt that running from their problems is the best way to resolve them.
Unless the writter is amazingly brilliant, i honestly think it is very hard to find another story from ones that are already being told. Our mind thinking is centered around what is already said such as fairytales or horror stories. How could we think differently from what we are taught?

second assignment

1) In the beginning of the novel, many characters are thrown at you all at once. After reading further into the novel there is no question that the main characters name is Adam. Adam is a man of noble blood, a loyal knight, and a kind - hearted man. He shows these characterisitics when he first saved a women's life from slavery and abuse and then taking blame for rape. In chapter 2 the trial takes place and Gwenyth has to choose between lying and deciete towards a man that "showed nothing of kindness who had seen her safely to her pallet," which, by the way would save her life, or telling thr truth. She chose to marry him. Showing his loyalty towards Gwenyth's saftey he agreed to marry but, "won't make the honest vows of the church with a decietful woman."

2) If i had to compare myself with any one character this early in the book i would have to lean towards gwenyth. Even though she falsely accused someone, she did it out of faith that God would answer her prayers and make this horrible situation that she had become a messanger in with no way out, be left in her past.

3) As of right now the main character sees dark dungeons and hatred. He can not see past the absured trial he was put on. He smells deciete, scandals, and more lies to come. As far as i can tell he is not in a good situation. He was forced into a realationship to save his life and a lying woman. I don't think he can see much, smell anything, or see what is to come. I would say he is a little angry.

First assignment

Circle of Honor is about a fight towards Independence. It takes place in the fourteenth century in Scotland. Two families are going for the crown and things get complicated. War breaks out but at the same time unexpected feelings for an enemy show up. What will Gwenyth do? Choose the side she started fighting for or turn around and choose the arrogant, young, good looking, man. I want to find out.
